My passion for photography was born after my passion
for water and immersion, which I have practiced since I was 14.
By the time I was 20 I already had my instructor licence. My aim
was to introduce the underwater world to as many people as possible.
This aim then, seemed not to be enough for me. I needed another
means to extend the underwater wonders to a larger public. And that's
how my two passions, for immersion and photography, practiced separately,
joined together.
Today it would be difficult for me to think of making an immersion
without my camera, in every respect an integrated component of my
underwater equipment.
I do believe in photography as a personal testimony, as a way to
present the underwater world.
The camera is a relatively simple tool which can be used by anyone,
the challenge is to use it to combine truth and beauty, which is
art.
